A mechanical generator of regular and repeatable lateral pulsations, equivalent to the lateral pulses that can be produced during maneuvers of a surfer, is mounted on a board, connected to a dynamometer recording the traction (thrust) in Newton, in a basin without disturbances.
The generator of mechanical lateral pulsations allows a repeatable and reliable objective measurement, and the absence of disturbance of the closed pool excludes the variations due to the various weather conditions.
